Ready to book? Hulk Movers is a licensed, insured San Diego moving company serving all of San Diego County since 2019.
Most moving companies in San Diego are legitimate businesses doing honest work. A small number aren't, and knowing the warning signs protects you before you've handed over a single box.
Red Flags Worth Taking Seriously
- A large upfront deposit, especially one requested in cash before any work has started.
- No USDOT number on the estimate, website, or truck, for a company that's supposed to be operating one.
- An estimate given with no questions asked, sight unseen, over the phone or by text.
- A different company name on the truck than the one you booked with.
- No physical business address you can find or visit.
What a Legitimate Company Looks Like
A real moving company will ask about your home, walk through what you're moving either in person or over video, and give you a written estimate that spells out what's included. They'll answer questions about licensing and insurance without hesitation, and their reviews will hold up across more than one platform.
Checking the Numbers
Before you book anyone, look up their USDOT number in the federal database and confirm it matches the company name on your paperwork. It takes a few minutes and rules out one of the most common problems with rogue movers.
